Farmers need help from government
In Banja Luka today, the 16th International Agriculture and Food Fair - Agros 2012 - opened.
Around 70 exhibitors presented seed and planting material, mechanization, packaging in agriculture and the food industry, and food and confectionery products, milk and dairy products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and healthy food.
At the Fair, which runs to 16 September, exhibitions of fruits, baked goods, presentation of producers and products from honey, medicinal plants, and horticulture are planned
President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Banja Luka Nikola Tolimir pointed to the fact that agricultural producers at the moment are faced with great problems and that they need help.
He warned that if agricultural production is not developed, the manufacturing industry will also come to a very difficult situation.
"The institutions of government must provide necessary funds to help agricultural producers," Tolimir said.
The Fair, at which are participating exhibitors from BiH, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, and other countries, was opened by RS Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining Zeljko Kovacevic, who says that the RS government is doing everything it can to help agricultural producers in that entity.
The organizer of Agros is the company Banja Luka Fair.
