Hadzic, Bijedic visit site in Corridor 5c

BiH Communication and Transport Minister Damir Hadzic today visited the construction site in Corridor 5c at the subsections of Suhodol-Tarcin, Drivusa-Gorica, and Biljesevo-Kakanj, in the company of Federal Transport and Communication Minister Enver Bijedic and representatives of JP Motorways FBiH.

During the site visit in Tarcin, Minister Hadzic said that it was a very challenging section of the route, 60 percent of which comprises a tunnel. He announced that with the construction of the Vlakovo-Tarcin section, BiH will have connected the southern part of Corridor 5c with the north all the way to Zenica.

The Suhodol-Tarcin subsection began construction in June of this year, and is planned to be completed in 28 months.

Ministers Hadzic and Bijedic with JP Motorways FBiH Mostar Director Ensad Karic and executive director for projects and construction Jasmin Buco visited the Kakanj-Biljesevo subsection that consists of 9.5 kilometers of highway, nine kilometers of regional roads, and seven kilometers of local roads.

It is planned that this subsection will be completed by the end of August. In the subsection there are 50 objects (three large double bridges on the highway, two major bridges on regional roads, a toll at Lucani, a viaduct of 225 meters and two long underpasses of 80 meters each, and a landslide at Ticici with investment of more than EURO 4 million and 30 minor bridges and passages).

The third subsection of Drivusa-Gorica of three kilometers is planned for completion at the end of the year. In this subsection is the first bridge in BiH that is a system of gradual extension of 510 meters.

At the same time, BiH is working on subsections at Bijac-Kravica and beginning construction of border crossings at Bijac and Svilaj, and building the Zvirovici-Kravica subsection, the Council of Ministers has announced.
