Komsic: Substantive - not cosmetic - changes needed
Member of the BiH Presidency Zeljko Komsic today met with representatives of 15 civil society organizations (CSO) in BiH, with whom he discussed the current political situation in BiH and the agreement that emerged in public, and concerns the resolution of the Sejdic-Finci issue.
The common belief is that this agreement is disastrous for BiH and her citizens and that with the eventual implementation of this agreement, the degree of discrimination of BiH citizens will increase, depending on their place of residence and how they declare themselves.
Applicant to the Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg and one of the CSO representatives Dervo Sejdic emphasized that the goal of his suit in Strasbourg was to ensure the hope for hundreds of thousands of people who do not feel like members of a constitutive people, to be equally elected and have a chance to one day sit in the halls of the BiH Presidency and work in the best interests of the country.
Komsic repeated that this agreement is unacceptable and that it must undergo corrections, substantive rather than cosmetic, the BiH Presidency announced.
