Resic and Hennessey on projects for local communities
Chief of the Office of the Council of Europe in BiH Mary Ann Hennessey announced the possibility of support for training of employees who work on IPA projects in units of local self-governments.
This kind of support would go through IPA funds, and in discussion with Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of RS Lejla Resic, Hennessey pointed out that this issue would be insisted upon in the upcoming period.
At the meeting in Banja Luka, Resic and Hennessey discussed the report of the Congress of Local and Regional Governments on the topic "Local and regional democracy in BiH," and it was agreed that the presentation of this report, for the part which relates to RS, would be organized in this entity, the relevant entity ministries' spokesman stated.
"We are satisfied with the report because it recognizes positive elements that RS is doing on strengthening local self-government and improvement of its efficiency, which is clearly noted in the report. We are glad that this report could be seen by all RS municipalities and they could discuss its content," Minister Resic said.
