SDUBiH and OHR concerned about regularity of election

President and Vice President of SDUBiH Nermin Pecanac and Miro Lazovic met today at party headquarters in Sarajevo with chief of the political department at OHR Archie Tuta, on his own initiative.

The meeting considered topics connected to the current political situation, the status and expectations of SDUBiH from the upcoming local elections, and the issue of regularity of the overall electoral process in the light of possible machinations and abuse.

SDUBiH representatives recalled that they first publicly took the position that calling early general elections in BiH is the only exit from the political impasse in which the leaders of the current parties in power brought us with their coalition combinations.

They stressed that the SDUBiH expects good results in the upcoming local elections in BiH, because they believe the SDU is no longer just an alternative, but the only way out of the unstable political situation.

They expressed concern about possible electoral fraud, manipulation and abuse, and stressed that the agencies for protection of legality should rigorously punish parties that openly call for vote-buying and grabbing budget funds to finance their own political campaigns.

The head of the OHR's political section Archie Tuta announced the continuation of talks sharing concern with the SDUBiH on the overall political situation and the possible abuse of the electoral process, the SDUBiH Press Service stated.
