Strengthening economic and cultural relations between BiH and Italy
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda welcomed Gianfranco Fini, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, today in Sarajevo, with whom he discussed advancing economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
The two agreed that political relations between the two countries are open and friendly, and that there is an exchange of goods at a high level, but that there is truly a bilateral interest in strengthening cooperation.
Fini expressed Italy's interest in strengthening economic and cultural relations with BiH, emphasizing that there is a strong interest in creating joint projects in the energy sector and tighter integration of higher educational institutions in both countries.
Bevanda said that BiH is interested in cooperation and stressed that one of the priorities of the Council of Ministers is creating an energy strategy for BiH that would serve as a sort of roadmap for foreign investors.
He said that an acceleration of the realization of infrastructural projects like the Corridor 5c highway and the Adriatic-Ionian Highway to jumpstart the economy is a priority for BiH.
Bevanda personally and on behalf of the Council of Ministers and citizens of BiH expressed his condolences to Fini for the suffering of Italian citizens in the severe earthquake that struck the north of Italy, the Council of Ministers of BiH reported.
